It's not my fault you wish you were from the south.. And your argument confuses me, because you're running around in circles not making any sense. Nice try though, but you can't become southern by listening to country music or just by living here.
You are perfectly right. I hope your day is absolutely wonderful because you think you’re pointing out a flaw in me. You don’t know me, and although I respect your opinions, this is not a blog to write comments about anyone’s personal life. You’re right though, you don’t become Southern by listening to country or living here. You become Southern by always being polite and cautious with your words, adapting to the culture, the atmosphere and people. Always doing the best with what you have. Always being humble yet sophisticated. And always, always being true to who you are. All of those things which you have not done. Please continue on with your life as I will continue on with mine :)
My best friend is a Puerto Rican southern girl. The anon is so off base - ugh! Being southern is a style and an attitude. Not an ethnicity or birthplace. It's a culture and a tradition - two things which are completely adoptable. Go do your southern thing, girl!

Wow.. You call yourself southern? You weren't even born or raised in the south. In fact, you weren't even born in the United States. It isn't just a personality, that you yourself have so many of, that you take on. It's who you are, or in your case, who you aren't..
I am very intrigued by this post anon. Haha but I’m not going to let it affect me. I have lived in South Carolina for 6 years now, and lived in Baton Rouge for 2 years before moving overseas because my dad is in the military. The south is an addiction, something that you become part of by living here, breathing it all in, and loving every part of it. It’s not where you were born or the fact that I was born in Puerto Rico, which I suppose you only know because you actually KNOW me. I sure hope you don’t call yourself Southern however, because you have absolutely no class in calling someone out and stating that they are not something because they were not born in that particular area. So please, excuse me while I take in all of my culture, all of my experiences and all of my love for the South while you pout about how I’m “claiming” I’m Southern and you think I’m not.
